Chief Executive Officer

At Semicolon, we envision that Africa will be home to a thriving, talented technology community that will drive digital transformation - and, ultimately, progress toward all Sustainable Development Goals. Empowering women is a critical enabler for this vision as well as one of the high-level outcomes that we hope that our talented, thriving technology community will help achieve. Africa's digital transformation is impossible if we the significant gender inequality in the tech space continues. However, an innovative, empowered, and gender-balanced digital workforce will have the power to address and finally correct longstanding, and at times seemingly intractable, gender inequality across Africa and the world. Driving gender equality in tech is a key part of Semicolon's strategy. Through our Semicolon Women in Tech program, our women's empowerment strategy, and partnership with a broad range of ecosystem players, we will continue to act urgently and relentlessly in pursuing gender equity and women's empowerment across Africa.
