The Science of P/CVE is proud to be a signatory to the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs): a set of principles offering guidance to business on how to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community. Already, we have demonstrated commitment to advancing these important fronts, through our work at the nexus of science and the prevention of violent extremism. For example, our evidence-based presentation on “Gender-Responsive Approaches to Measuring and Evaluating PVE Initiatives” presented at the United Nations Development Programme conference on “Emerging Trends of Violent Extremism and the Future of PVE in Libya,” in Tunis, Tunisia. Our forthcoming publications include “Measuring and evaluating P/CVE initiatives with respect to human rights and the roles of women.” We wholeheartedly agree that businesses have a stake in, and a responsibility for, gender equality and women’s empowerment.
