In general, I think it can be much harder in life to be a woman than to be a man. The physical and emotional burdens are often higher to start with. There can be constant pressures to be a good mother, a good partner, and a primary emotional caregiver, all in addition to the demands of a full-time job. Women also face less upward career mobility than their male partners, while having the same innate talent. If 50% of people in a society are not given opportunities, then we lose 50% of our possibility; it is a half-future, not a full future. We need a society that includes all women and we strongly support the Women’s Empowerment Principles. Our Group commits to continuing to empower women within our ecosystem, while also looking to advance global gender equality, which is fundamental to both business and society.
