Gender equality and women’s empowerment has been at the heart of our tech community at the Data Science Festival since its launch in 2016. The opportunities for businesses having a diverse team is currently being missed and I want to be part of that change. I have seen first hand in the sector what equal representation does. From students being inspired to sign up to a linear algebra class to women taking the stage at our events after securing a round of funding. We need to create a platform where women feel welcomed, allowed to speak and are offered the same opportunities as their male peers in the sector. We are proud to be WEPs signatory.
