True gender equality comes from developing each employee regardless of gender. It is important to develop both men and women equally in all the roles. Training and development for every employee should be built on what each employee needs to learn to succeed so that all the employees, regardless of their gender, feel they are a part of the business and have an integral role. To communicate to employees that a company is committed to fostering gender equality, they could start with a full salary review of all employees to ensure that men and women at the same levels are compensated equally. Given men often negotiate more than women, they’re likely to receive higher salaries. Equal payment to both men and women must start here.
